Terms and Conditions of Travis Driving School

1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing Travis Driving School. These terms and conditions ("Terms") apply to all our services, both online and offline, offered to our students.

2. Enrollment and Fees
​
2.1. Fees for all courses must be paid in full upon enrollment unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
2.2. Travis Driving School reserves the right to change its fees at any time without prior notice. However, any changes will not affect those who have already enrolled and paid.

3. Cancellation and Refunds
​
Driving Lessons
​
3.1. A full refund will be issued to any student who cancels the enrollment contract before midnight of the third day, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays, after the enrollment contract is signed by the prospective student, unless the student has completed the course and accepted a certificate of completion during that period. Refund computations will be based on the actual instruction received through the last date of attendance. The effective date of the termination for refund purposes will be the earliest of the following:
(a) the last day of attendance, if the student is terminated by the school;
(b) the date of receipt of written notice from the student; or
(c) the 10th school day following the last day of attendance.

If tuition is collected in advance of entrance and, if after the expiration of the 72-hour cancellation privilege, the student does not enter school, terminates enrollment, or withdraws, the school may retain up to $50 as administrative expenses, processing fee as per the payment processing prices; and, from the remainder, shall refund that portion of the classroom tuition and fees and behind-the-wheel tuition and fees for services not previously received by the student.

A full refund of all tuition and fees is due and refundable in each of the following cases:
(a) when an enrollee is not accepted by the school;
(b) if the course of instruction is discontinued by the school at this location; or
(c) if the student’s enrollment was procured as a result of any misrepresentation in advertising, promotional materials of the school, or misrepresentation by the owner or representative of the school.

Refunds shall be completed within 30 days after the effective date of termination.
​
3.2. No refund will be provided after the aforementioned period unless specified under special circumstances determined by Travis Driving School.
3.3. No refund will be issued to a student who completes the course and accepts a certificate of completion within the initial three-day period.

Road Tests
​
3.4. A full refund will be issued if a student cancels their road test with 24-hour advance notice of a business day.
3.5. If a student fails to notify us at least 24 hours in advance of a business day or misses the appointment, a $40 cancellation fee will apply. Refunds, if requested, will be issued minus the $40 cancellation fee.
3.6. If a student is more than 15 minutes late to a scheduled road test, it will be considered a no-show, and the test will be canceled. A $40 rescheduling fee will be required to book a new test.

4. Rescheduling
​
4.1. Rescheduling requests for driving lessons or road tests must be made at least 24 hours in advance of a business dayto avoid fees.
4.2. Late rescheduling requests will incur the following fees:

Driving lessons: $50

Road tests: $40
4.3. Rescheduling fees must be paid before booking a new appointment.
4.4. If students are more than 15 minutes late to a scheduled driving lesson or road test, it will be considered a no-show, and the rescheduling fee will apply.

5. Course Completion
​
5.1. Students are required to complete their courses of In-Class & In-Car within 6 months of registration. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the course without refund.

6. Classroom Attendance & Absence
​
6.1. A full hour of absence is charged to the student when he/she does not attend the full 55 minutes of instruction during a 60-minute period. If a student is absent in excess of 10 classroom hours, the student enrollment will be terminated from that class.
6.2. Classroom Grading & Progress: Progress standards must meet the requirements of the current rules adopted by the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR). Mastery is a prerequisite to awarding a grade of 70 or above. Evidence of mastery shall be determined by one or more of the following methods:

7. DPS Road Test
​
7.1. All road tests should be completed within 2 months from the first test date. Failure to comply may result in forfeiture of subsequent tests.
7.2. If students do not watch the IMPACT Video before or on the day of the test, they must pay the road test price again and take the road test another time, due to the requirement that the IMPACT Certificate of completion date must match the road test date.

8. Mock Test Policy
​
8.1. Mock tests provided by Travis Driving School are intended solely for preparation purposes to help students get ready for the actual road exam. Please note that the mock test is not a real road exam, nor does it follow the exact route of the official exam.
8.2. If you choose to purchase a mock test as part of your driving program, it will be included within your scheduled driving hours and not as additional time beyond your lessons. This means that the duration of the mock test will be part of your existing lesson time.

9. Rules of Operation and Conduct
​
9.1. A student or prospective student may be dismissed or barred from the school for tardiness; drunkenness or obvious signs of drug use; rude, vulgar, or disruptive behavior; smoking or using tobacco products; using a cell phone during class or in the car; or being otherwise inattentive (sleeping, texting, reading, etc.). Students terminated for violating rules of conduct may be readmitted at the discretion of the school Director.

10. Liability and Safety
​
10.1. In case of a collision caused by the student driver, the student driver is liable for $500 insurance deductible.
​
11. Notice to Parents and Guardians
​
11.1. As the parent or guardian of a teenager, you are entitled to know the minimum requirements of a teen driver education course.

There are 32 required hours of classroom instruction.

Your teen must attend the first 6 hours of classroom instruction before a learner's permit will be issued by DPS.

Only 2 hours of scheduled classroom instruction are permitted per day.

The classroom instruction phase shall be completed within the timelines stated in this contract, and all 32 hours must be attended and successfully completed or made up.
​
5 hours of in-car driving instruction, an additional 5 hours of in-car observation, and 6 hours of simulation are required. A 2-hour increment of behind-the-wheel instruction may be offered once during the behind-the-wheel phase of instruction for each student.
​
30 additional clock hours of behind-the-wheel instruction must be provided to young drivers and certified by a parent or guardian before a teenager may progress to Phase 2 of Texas' Graduated Driver Licensing program.
​
If your teen transfers to another school or driver training program, timelines may change, and credits for classroom and/or in-car training may not be transferable to the new driver training school.
​
Teens who choose to register for an online course instead of the classroom-based instruction may also register with Travis Driving School for behind-the-wheel training only. This includes 7 hours of driving instruction and 7 hours of observation as required by Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) standards.

The entire driver education course must be completed within the timelines stated in this contract. 180 days to complete the entire program. (Note: During peak enrollment periods, in-car instruction times could be subject to availability.)

12. Acknowledgment
​
12.1. I have been furnished with the school's tuition and fees; cancellation and refund policy; and school regulations pertaining to absence, grading policy, progress, and rules of operation and conduct. I further realize that any grievances not resolved by the school may be forwarded to TDLR P.O. Box 12157 Austin, TX 78711. Telephone: (800) 803-9202 or (512) 463-6599.

This agreement constitutes the entire contract between the school and the student and no verbal assurances or promises not contained herein shall bind the school or the student.
​
In case of a collision caused by the student driver, the student driver is liable for $500 insurance deductible. This driver education school maintains business vehicle insurance as required by the Transportation Code, Chapter 601, and uninsured or underinsured coverage.

13. Miscellaneous
​
13.1. These Terms are governed by Texas / United States Law.
13.2. Travis Driving School reserves the right to change these Terms at any time. Students will be notified of any significant changes.
